Etymology of the nemae of the classical language

Etymology of the name of the classical language, Tamil;

                                     The exact period when the name "Tamil" came to be applied to the language is unclear, as is the precise etymology of the name. The   earliest attested use   of   the name is found inTholkappiyam, which is dated as early as 1st century BCE.Southworth suggests that the name comes from  tam-mi?  >  tam-i?  'self-speak', or 'one's own speech' (see Southworth's derivation of   Sanskrit   term for "others" or   Mleccha).Kamil Zvelebil   suggests an etymology of  tam-i? , with  tam  meaning "self" or "one's self", and " -i? " having the connotation of "unfolding sound". Alternatively, he suggests a derivation of  tami?  <  tam-i?  < * tav-i?  < * tak-i? , meaning in origin "the proper process (of speaking)"

                                    The Tamil Lexicon of University of Madras defines the word 'Tamil' as 'sweetness'. [   S.V Subramanian suggests the meaning 'sweet sound' from 'tam'- sweet and 'il'- 'sound'.   A metaphysical meaning was given by   Vallalar. Vallalar explains the word Thamizh having 5 units of measure Th+a+m+i+zh as the Natural Truth process of Divine essence involving ('Th+a'), manifesting in the physical body as human being and evolving into the Supramental Being ('m+i') to experience the Perfect Oneness Delight ('zh').   This metaphysical meaning indirectly leads to the meaning of Sweetness or Compassion.

                        1.   The name of the language Tamil is the combination of Tha + Maa+ la.  Tha   means red in Tamil.  Ma+a means     big   Aa.  Aa means Athee or old and great in Tamil.  La means light [which is responsible for the shadow] or shadow in Egypt.[Egyptian sheut] . Hence  Tha  ma la  means    red  light of the Aathee,  the  sun  or    red  necklace or  sigappu malai  [ of Siva]  or   Siva malai  or  Siva  maalai .    Thamala had   become Thamil. In simpler term Thamala means sun light   particularly morning sun light.  That is  the reason, Dravidian believe that  the language  was  give to them by lord Siva.

                     2.   Tamil-- literally   means ‘Language ‘. How do we say?

                              The   Sumerian   word for ‘tongue' or ‘language' is ‘Tal ‘or ‘Til'   or ‘Dil ‘[Turkish].    Til ‘ or ‘Tal' has the composition of  Thee+la   which  means  ‘fire' flame , the  red tongue .  ‘Thee ‘is the fire, ‘la' is the light.  Thee ‘ is hot while ‘ tha ‘ is cool  as in Thailam ,  Thaila  or  Thailammai  ,  River  Tigris  etc  .  The word  ‘Tillai'  signifies  ‘fire'  or sun god  as In  Thillai  Natarasan  , Thillai  Ambalam ,  Thilagan etc .  Sumerialogists like Prof. Loganathan   suggests that the Sumerian language is really a form of archaic Tamil. Dr. Clyde. A. Winter considers that the Sumerian civilization is actually the civilization of the Black Dravidian people. Al fred  Hamori has shown that the Sumerian words are very much similar to Tamil words.  Polat Kaya says that the Sumerian language is very much related to the Turkish language and the Sumerian civilization is a ‘Turanian' one.  Since the Sumerian  language  - Tal  , the red  tongue  was originated  from the fire flame -  given by the sun god ,  the  language  per se   was called  as ‘ Thee +ill ‘–  i.e.   Came out or born out of the ‘thee' fire or given   by the sun god. The original name ‘Tamil' has   the additional   syllable ‘Ma' {Thee +Ma+la } .' Tal ‘or ‘Til' is the short form of the word Tamil.  It seems that the word for' language ‘in Sumerian land  is simply the ‘Tamil'. The word for language in Tamil is Mozhi [Ma+la ]  which is the 2 nd  part of the word Ta + mil [ Tal + Mozhi ]  and Sumerian word Tal is the first part of the word Tamil. Both the words have retained the syllable la. Tal -mozhi – or Tamil simply means the' language'. Hence The Tamil language has no name.  ]

                  The noise of the Thunder, the voice or the language of the sun god   as perceived   by the Tamil people is “Dam… Dam! …Dum...  Dum!  Damal! “. The sound ‘Damal' / ‘Tamal ‘is very much the same as the word Tamil. Dravidian people learnt the syllable ta, /da   ,‘tha'  and ‘thee' only from the  ‘ idi ‘–the thunder [ Tamil –Tandam]   of their  sun god  Saeyon , the Greek Zeus. The lightening associated with the thunder is called as ‘minnal'.  ‘La ‘means the ‘light' or ‘bright' or'shiny' or ‘white' as in Nila, the Tamil word for moon. ‘Ma' in Tamil means ‘big' or great.  The ‘ma' or' mi' with the addition of ‘dam' or tam and the' la' gives the word Tamil. The cuneiform letters written in the shape of the cone and the sticks signify the ‘Kon', the sun god and the fire sticks, the Minnal [Min+anal] .Hence the name Tamil signifies the language of the fire flame or the language of the Thunder'-idi ‘and lightening –‘Minnal.'  In fact the name Deva Nagari  also means the language of the Ra , the sun god.  Deva  Nagari  is the corrupted form of the Tamil name  Thee ya  Nakku  Orai   or Thee  Aa +na +ka+Ra. Na+ akku  = Nakku or the fire  flame or the  red tongue. ‘The Nakku urai' [ Deva Nagari] means the ‘prose' or ‘the language of  the sun god'.

                                 Tamil is called as  Muthamil [ prose, music and Drama],  Sentamil [ classical language] , Panithamil  [ live one  ] , Natramil  [ good language], Koduntamil [colloquial form ]  Poontamil  [ like the fire or the flower] etc. The name ‘Tellu Tamil' [  tol -primordial –ancient—oldest ] is nothing but the Sumerian Tamil.  The names of the other   Dravidian languages Telugu, Tulu are simply the Sumerian ‘Tal'.

                                       South central Dravidian languages like Maria and Muria  has the  ‘maru'  part of the name Sumerian.  Most of the names of the   Dravidian languages have the first syllable as KO. for example  ; Kondi  ,kond , kui ,  koraga,  kudia , koya, kuvi  , kinwar , ,kannada , kota,  kudumba  , kolami  , kuruk,  koya , kalanadi ,kunduvadi, kumbaran , kanikkaran , kumarbhag and kuruchia .The magical letter' ko' [ ‘ka' of the Egyptian   and ‘ka' of the Sumerian]  denoted that the languages  came from the sky.  The  other  Dravidian languages like  Mayalam  has the  Dravidian magical syllable Ma [ great or big];   The language pardan has the magical syllable ‘Pa' [ Egyptian ba – Sumerian ba];  Badaga has the letter ‘Ba'  or ‘pa' ;Toda has the ‘thee' in it;   Brahui has the' ba' in it;  Savera  and Chenchu  have  the ‘sa ‘in them  ;Nagarchal and Naiki have the ‘na' in them. Allar has the Aa and Irulan has the magical letter' e' [Tamil and Sumerian –earth].
